1. How do I apply?

 

To apply for a place at LIPA 4:19 Part-time Academy, you will need to download and complete a LIPA 4:19 application form which is located in the Downloads box on the left hand side of this page.

Alternatively, you can request one to be sent in the post, by phoning 0151 3009 or email: 419enquiries@lipa.ac.uk

2. Do I have to audition?


No, we accept students of all abilities. It's an open door policy, Places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

3. How do I pay?


We accept payment by direct debit.

4. Do I have to do all 3 disciplines because I can't sing?


Learning the performing arts is about learning all key disciplines even though we may be only gifted in certain areas. Gaining skills and perfecting others is all part of it. LlPA 4:19's philosophy is to encourage and nurture these main key skills. Through innovative teaching programmes we believe most students will develop the confidence to gain skills in all areas to succeed in the profession.

5. Do I have to wear a uniform?


Yes, we have a uniform dress code. We believe this allows students to focus on their studies and friendships without unnecessary concerns.

We request that all students wear a LIPA 4:19 t-shirt or vest top or sweatshirt, which can be purchased from LIPA. All students MUST wear split soled black jazz shoes and plain black pants. Jazz trainers are optional. These are not available for purchase from LIPA. Click here for further details about 4:19 merchandise.

6. Will my child get a chance to perform?


Yes, there is a large-scale end of year production.

7. My child is shy, maybe LIPA will be too daunting for her/him?


LIPA 4:19 has already proved to be a fun and stimulating environment for many youngsters. Through role play and encouragement at LIPA 4:19, many children increase their self confidence and their communication skills. It’s a great place to make new friends and to enjoy tapping into their own imaginations and creativity.

8. Are the teaching staff qualified?


Our LIPA 4:19 team profiles are posted on the website. We are fortunate to attract the highest calibre practitioners who are also experienced in teaching youngsters.

9. Will my child be safe?


The safety of your child is paramount. We operate a strict code of practice that has been developed to safeguard your child's safety and well being. We ask all students and parents/guardians to co-operate with these policies. Additional Health & Safety guidelines are applicable in specific areas of LIPA and you must adhere to these conditions as laid down by LIPA staff. LIPA has 24 hour security.

10. Are LIPA staff registered and checked by Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)?


Yes, all LIPA 4:19 staff and those that will come in contact with the students are cleared by CRB to work with under 18 year old students.

11. Notice required to leave LIPA 4:19 part-time academy early?


Four weeks written notice is required. In the event of a student leaving the LIPA 4:19 part-time academy early, there will be no refund of fees paid.
