Grace Turner
“The programme really helped me to develop my dance technique across many styles that are helpful for commercial dance. It confirmed the direction I wanted to take in my career and very importantly improved my confidence and my success rate at auditions.”
Grace Turner graduated from the Foundation programme in 2009 and has recently completed the BA (Hons) Dance programme at LIPA.
Aranyani Bhargav – 2007 Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)
Aranyani Bhargav has one foot in the past and one in the present, quite literally!
She is an accomplished performer of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian form rooted in ancient temple rituals. She is also developing her skills in contemporary dance after being introduced to different styles at LIPA during her one year Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)* in 2007, at the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts in Bangalore and at the Gati Dance Forum in Dehli.
Her art has taken her across India and the rest of the world. As a Bharatanatyam dancer, she has performed to critical acclaim at official receptions and events in cities such as London, Paris and New York, with one of her career highlights to date being a Bharatanatyam performance at the Indian embassy in Berlin. Aranyani has also got an MA in Contemporary Indian Studies from University of Oxford.
As well as Bharatanatyam, Aranyani performs, and teaches, contemporary dance and has helped to document the work of one of India’s legendary contemporary dancers, Chandralekha.
