One of the best things about studying at LIPA is that you're always being encouraged to participate in shows and events outside of your studies.
In doing so, we become better performers, and gain more experience in what it's going to be like working as a performer once we graduate and enter the world of work. As a result, many students put on their own shows both witihin LIPA and in various small theatres across Merseyside. One such show is a production of a musical called Departure Lounge, which is produced by InStep Theatre (a company run entirely by current LIPA students).
“Departure Lounge”, features 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year BA (Hons) Acting students, and is directed by one of our lecturers, Sally Rapier. It’s a wonderful little musical written by Dougal Irvine, about a boy's holiday in the Sun, and the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
If you'd like to come and see a performance, there’s still a chance for you to book tickets. They are £8 for most performances, All tickets can be booked via the Unity Theatre website.
After seeing how hard all of our students have worked on their performances, Departure Lounge looks set to be a brilliant show. So what else are you waiting for? Get yourself down to the Unity and book yourself some tickets!
