Welcome to Connected
We are pleased and proud to welcome you back to the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and our new alumni pages.
Since opening in 1996 we’ve had over 3600 students walk through our doors, studying on our higher education programmes and our flexible learning courses and it’s through these pages that we aim to bring you back together.
We’ll keep you up to date on what’s going on at the institute, bring you news on your classmates through the annual alumni newsletter (See Me Now) and don't forget to check out the bulletin board if you are looking for work opportunities or want to post a message to reach the alumni network.
Planned Alumni Reunion in Norway February 2012
We want to hold an alumni reunion in Oslo on Sunday 26th February starting at 19.00. At the moment we are trying to get some idea of numbers, so we can find out if the venue we have chosen can cope. So could you please do two things?
The first is to reply to Jan Buchanan, our Alumni Manager (j.buchanan@lipa.ac.uk) by Tuesday 17th January, mid-day to let us know if you are able to be there. Unfortunately for this one, unless your partner is one of our graduates, the invitation will just be for you.
The second is to spread the word please . When we began the computer aids that now exist were just beginning so, at this point, we want to ensure we have alerted everyone, because it seems our records aren't complete, or may not be up-to-date.
We hope you can be there (no worries if not, because we want to make this an annual event) and please let graduates you know, know!
Alumni Reunion
We held a reunion of alumni from 2002, 3003 and 2004 on Saturday 15th May. Graduates from Poland, Spain, Switzerland and a large contingent from Germany, as well as the UK, met up with LIPA staff to catch up over a few drinks and a bit to eat. Guests watched graduation videos with enthusiasm and laughter, and exchanged anecdotes, many of which seemed to involve drink or CCTV cameras. Some of the images from this event are featured in this slideshow.

Going on tour? Mounting a show? Help is at hand
With greater emphasis placed on the importance of networking we’ve developed an online directory of graduates, a searchable skills database and we also have a bulletin board where you can view and post messages.
Each registered graduate will have their own site presence and can include images, web links, career profiles and specialist skills. This is central to the site as it feeds into the online skills database and its success relies heavily on your input. Fellow alumni will search the skills database using key words, so the more detailed the information you submit the better. Guidelines and examples are provided throughout the site and registration is free.
Access to the site is restricted to LIPA graduates and former LIPA students, as well as current LIPA staff and final year students. You can also elect to become a mentor for current students.
If this is your first visit to the site you will need to complete a short registration process. If you’ve already registered – welcome back.
