Vocally, I've been learning a spectacular technique on the course which has completely expanded my range and abilities. Personally, I never thought I was particularly good at acting and dance, and I had limited knowledge about music theory, so the classes in these areas have really helped me. The teachers guide you and are always there for you if you need help or confidence. Overall, this course truly gives you everything you make of it and has endless opportunities. I absolutely love the challenge and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Entry Requirements

We take your ability in your chosen specialism into account, together with your

Education // Experience // Interdisciplinary experience/interest // Communication skills // Enterprise

In terms of education, at GCSE level, you will need five GCSE passes at a minimum grade C or above. These should include Maths and English Language.

You would usually also be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent UK or overseas qualifications. You should normally achieve, as a minimum, 180 UCAS tariff points (if studying A-Levels, this should be from 2 A-Levels, excluding General Studies). We do not specify which subjects you need to study at Level 3, so, for example, you do not necessarily need to be studying a performing arts subject for your A-Levels/BTEC National Diploma or equivalent qualifications).

If you are a mature student without these qualifications, but considerable performance experience, you are welcome to apply.

International Students

If you live outside the UK, the same criteria apply.

We recognise a wide variety of qualifications obtained overseas and are able to translate overseas grades and transcripts to UK equivalents. If English is not your first language, you may be asked at interview or audition stage to provide evidence of your linguistic ability. The following may be acceptable evidence of your proficiency in English:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing Service): minimum average score of 6.0 or above, and, for each component, 5 or above
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) grades A-C
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) Pass
  • International GCSE English as a Second Language grade C
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) paper-based test minimum score 550, computer-based test minimum score 213, internet-based test minimum score 79
  • PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic): minimum score 54

If you have another qualification which you think may be equivalent, let us know. As a member of UK NARIC, we can quickly advise you if it is equivalent or not.

You may be asked as a condition of your offer to provide evidence that you have already attained one of the above (or equivalent) qualifications or be asked to take the IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Academic examination within a specified time to attain a specified result.
