Jon Thornton – Head of Discipline
Jon interned in Music studios in London and the North East and subsequently in audio post production in Newcastle and the North West of England. He is a regular contributor to professional audio journals such as Resolution and regularly reviews and tests equipment from all major audio manufacturers.
Mark Atherton – Lecturer
Mark has worked as an engineer and sound programmer on albums for labels such as Urbanite and Echo. He has produced remixes under various aliases, including Rubberman, Grooveman and Lazyboy. He has worked as a percussion club player since 2001 and was signed as a producer to USA label Soulfuric Recordings, Moondisk Records and Flawless Records.
Chris Layton – Lecturer
Chris has over 15 years industry experience, providing professional live sound engineering and production services for a wide range of high profile artists on tour. He specialises in providing practical solutions for complex and challenging live acts. His credits include The Pogues, Prodigy, Republica, Cornershop, Chumbawumba, and the Afrocets.
Peter Phillipson – Lecturer
Peter has worked as a test engineer for Amek Systems, and was an acoustic research assistant and lecturer at Salford University. He has an MSc in Music Technology from the University of York.
Paul Stakounis – Lecturer
Paul has worked as a freelance engineer/producer across Merseyside. His consultancy work includes Soundhouse Studios and Braveheart Records in Liverpool.
