Events & Public Performances

Sweeney Todd Event

Theatre, dance and music performances

At LIPA we put on over 30 public performances each year, so if you live in Liverpool or are visiting the city, why not come along and see the next generation of young talent. Our productions often gain critical acclaim in The Liverpool Echo.

Set in a fabulous location with first-class facilities, the productions showcase the talents of all types of students at LIPA – actors, dancers, musicians, community drama facilitators, technicians, managers and designers.

From classic dramas, issue-based contemporary plays, popular musical theatre and inspiring dance performances to pop, rock and jazz concerts, LIPA has something for everyone.

What to expect at an Open Day event

When you arrive we ask you all to register under the name on your confirmation letter. You then attend our welcome and overview talk which helps explain the ethos of LIPA and sets the whole event in context. You can then attend various subject talks, go on a buildings tour with one of our students or graduates and can meet admission staff, who are happy to answer any questions you have about entry requirements, how to apply and funding.

Can’t attend the dates in week commencing 3rd October?

We will hold smaller-scale guided tour events in October too, if you cannot attend an open day. These events offer you the chance to:

  • attend welcome talks hosted by staff from the Marketing and Student Recruitment team and some of our current or recent graduates
  • go on a tour of the building with a current student or recent graduate and hear first-hand about their experiences of studying here
  • visit our Admissions stand to find out more about our admissions process, student finances and accommodation options

The dates for these events will be publicised here in early October and bookings will open at the same time. To register interest in attending one of these events so we can email you as soon as the dates are set and bookings open, please click here.
