We do not own our own “halls of residence” accommodation; however, there are various private housing companies within the City of Liverpool offering a good standard and range of accommodation. We review what is available each year and availability for our students is excellent. All of these are situated five to fifteen minutes’ walk away from LIPA, and are self-catering. Once you have accepted an offer of a place, we send you more detailed information.
Prices range from £75 to £117 a week. Accessible accommodation is also available for wheelchair users.
In the second and third year, you might opt for sharing accommodation with other students within the private rented sector. Along with the other universities in Liverpool, we are affiliated to Liverpool Student Homes, which co-ordinates privately owned flats and houses available for rent in the city. It currently holds information on about 3,500 landlords in the Liverpool area.
Things to remember when you're choosing student accommodation

- Do your research. Many of our students are currently living in the accommodation indicated in this leaflet but this does not stop you from looking somewhere else.
- Look at the websites of each housing company and see what they have available. Make contact with the one that you think you would like to live in. Try to go and see the accommodation before committing to a contract.
- Once you are happy with what you have found, complete the booking form (some can be downloaded or completed online), including any relevant payments and return to the relevant housing company as soon as possible, in order to secure the booking. Most of these companies will provide you with a detailed contract as soon as you have paid a deposit.
PLEASE NOTE: We have NO control over or responsibility for the management of the accommodation provided by these companies. They are all used by students from all of the other universities within Liverpool, and we have checked the standards of the ones we have provided within this leaflet.
You should always read your ‘Terms and Conditions’ carefully, paying particular attention to any penalties incurred by cancelling your contract or collecting your deposit at the end of your contract.
A students viewpoint
“Living with people on different courses in halls is a really worthwhile experience, not only to make great friends, but to network with people who you are likely to be working with in the future. There is always somebody from LIPA around who will be willing to meet up for a chat (or a drink) any time of the day or night!”
