Early start teacher: LIPA 4:19 Sunday academy
Hazel is a senior childcare practitioner with over ten years’ practical experience, in both a hands on and managerial capacity.
Having achieved the NNEB (Nursery Nurse Examination Board) and CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching Adults) qualifications at West Cheshire College, she has spent the past several years putting these skills into good practice in a variety of settings throughout Europe. She has worked in holiday clubs, where creativity and fun were the order of the day, to working in private international schools where music time, drama and other creative forms of expression were promoted and considered important aspects of the curriculum.
Since returning to the UK, Hazel has achieved a Certificate in ‘Teaching dance for three to eleven year olds’, at Canterbury University and also finds time to pursue her interests in creative writing, ballet and musical theatre.
Hazel is currently working during the week at a further education college on the Wirral, within their ESOL department, teaching English as a second language to foreign students. In addition to this, Hazel is working for Wirral Primary Care Trust as a speech and language therapy assistant, covering schools across the Wirral, delivering speech and language programmes to children with hearing impairments.
Hazel was also a member of the LIPA 4:19 academy on a Saturday where she gained many years of experience teaching and assisting the early start students.
