LIPA 4:19 Saturday Early Start teacher

Jane Lewis graduated from LIPA in 2000 with a BA Honours Degree in Performing Arts. She then went on to work as a performing artist, writer and poet throughout England and Europe.

Jane has taught Early Start classes for LIPA 4:19 since its inception and is also currently teaching for SALT, Knowsley Schools and Stage Door Theatre School. Jane has also worked with The Hamlets Preparatory School where she created a performing arts curriculum for Nursery through to Year 3. In 2005 she founded SuperStars, which is a specialist performing arts class for age 3 –5, and is co-founder of Darcy Productions Stage School.

Previously Jane has taught performing arts for numerous places including The Liverpool Empire Theatre, Sure Start, Rebound Dance in Education, Black Box, Bigfoot Theatre School, Jigsaw, Gateacre Comprehensive School, Supernovas Stage School, and a variety of primary schools throughout the North West of England and London. Jane has also given private acting and singing tuition to adults and children for many years.

As well as teaching for arts institutions and schools, Jane has also used drama workshops to help young adults on ‘New Deal’ to build their confidence and interview skills. Jane has also worked in conjunction with Crosby Training to inspire young adults to look for work.
