Youth Theatre Director of the LIPA 4:19 Theatre Company

After graduating for the Central School of Speech and Drama, Les toured the UK performing in three different productions. He has also assisted a director for a musical show in New Orleans, USA.

Since then Les has focused his passion of performing mainly in directing different genres of theatre performances from musicals such as The King and I, and Oliver! to straight, more serious plays like Animal Farm, Volpone and Equus.

He has also shared his enthusiasm of drama and theatre through teaching both subjects to pupils at different age levels and abilities in the North West of England. Teaching drama and directing productions led him to Italy where he was the Drama Co-ordinator at The International School of Treviso. He is presently the Head of Drama and Theatre at a school in The Lake District.

Les is also the Youth Theatre Director of LIPA 4:19 Drama Company. Past productions he has directed 4:19 students in include Two, One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest and 1984. Les holds two PGCEs to teach drama in secondary, further and higher education establishments.
