Terri Burnet - Specialist Study Skills Tutor

Email: t.burnet@lipa.ac.uk

Terri started working at LIPA in 2002. After having an initial role as note taker, she now works with students on a one-to-one basis as a specialist study skills tutor.

Terri trained as a teacher at Bangor Normal College in North Wales and worked in secondary schools for 25 years. She initially taught physics and general science and then, after completing an advanced diploma at the University of Manchester, was a Teacher of the Deaf for thirteen-and-a-half years.

Terri has also gained a Batchelor of Arts in physics and maths with the Open University and the Dyslexia Institute Certificate for Teaching Adult Literacy: Supporting Adults in Dyslexia and Literacy.

As well as LIPA, Terri works in the same role at Liverpool John Moores University and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. When working with students, Terri aims to be flexible so that each session suits an individual’s needs. In this way a student can develop strategies to help improve their confidence.
