One of Priestley’s signature “Time” plays, Time and the Conways focuses on the happy-go-lucky Conway family at Kay’s 21st birthday celebration in 1919. It then jumps us forward to 1937 to witness the effect of time on their individual and collective lives, before returning us to 1919 with a perspective born of that fateful glimpse into the future.
A classic British play, it stands testament to the significance of Priestley’s work in the development of time theory and his engagement with humanist philosophy.
