When the Rain Stops Falling is a tightly wound, time-skipping play about father-son relationships, the past’s ability to consume the
future, and environmental catastrophe.
London, 1988. Twenty-eight-year-old Gabriel Law asks his unforthcoming, alcoholic mother about his father’s disappearance to Australia and the seven postcards that he sent from the outback. As the play develops, you are taken back in time to discover why the father went down under. And, as Gabriel travels to Australia to search for answers, you are propelled forward to see how the actions of a forebear can affect successive generations of one family.
