
This bright musical set in 1960s Dublin, Ireland presents the tribulations of 40 something, bachelor, Alfie Byrne who is obsessed with the work of Oscar Wilde. Bus conductor, Alfie embarks on the turbulent challenge of putting on Wilde’s play Salome at St. Imelda’s Church hall.
Through a blend of pop and traditional Irish folksong styles we see and hear about Alfie’s life. He introduces the audience to the many interesting characters he meets on his day-today journeys who become an integral part in Alfie’s life.
Based on the film of the same title starring Albert Finney, this down to earth musical shows the audience the many endearing qualities of one man of no importance.
