This is aimed at students who have successfully completed our Singing (Level 1) course, or students who already have some education and/or experience in singing. It aims to enable them to progress as singers and build on their prior study, confidence and experience. The classes cover an exploration of body/voice driven performance, the personalisation of material (including musical arrangements and own songs), considerations of the 'look' and style of performance, the development of stage craft and presence and 'Introductions, Links and Finishes'. This will be explored primarily through practical work along with audio/video material. All students will be expected to challenge themselves to work outside previous areas of repertoire or technique and to deliver a solo set of 3-4 songs at the end of the course. Students will also explore the logistical side of creating performance including recruiting additional musicians, technical and promotional support with the help of the tutor.
Entry requirements
Students who have successfully completed the Singing (Level 1) course are not required to attend an audition but will need to complete an application form (places allocated on a first come first served basis).
