Take your place in a creative community
Being surrounded by so many energetic and like-minded people means you'll never be short of something to do. Our students work hard, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. The SEB (Student Events Board) organises events throughout the year and we have a bustling bar and canteen which are at the social heart of LIPA and also host regular events.
As you walk around our buildings, you'll find a busy, international environment and there's always lots going on. You catch glimpses of a diverse range of productions in various stages of preparation, stumble on actors learning lines in the corridor, hear different genres of music coming from rehearsal rooms and see students at work on their laptops in the bar.
Our teaching year runs from September to May. During the year, we host over 30 public performances ranging from classic dramas, issue-based contemporary plays, popular musical theatre and inspiring original dance performances to pop, rock and jazz concerts.
Because we have a relatively small student body, it's easy to get to know people and start building connections which will support you throughout your training and often into your professional life. Everyone who studies here is passionate about pursuing a career in the performing arts, and our students' ambitions are fully supported by our experienced and friendly teaching staff.
