LIPA may make changes to a programme of study or module where such changes are deemed to be beneficial to students, or are minor in nature and unlikely to impact negatively upon students or become necessary due to circumstances beyond the control of LIPA. Such events are rare, but where this does happen LIPA operates a policy of consultation, advice and support to all enrolled students affected by a proposed change to their programme or module. Where changes are proposed which will affect existing students, programme teams must ensure that those students will not be disadvantaged by the change. Examples of essential change include: changes enabling new industry/professional practice or research to be brought into the curriculum, or changes that are subsequently agreed in response to concerns expressed by students, external examiners or professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs). Oversight and approval of changes through our approved programme and module change processes provide an additional safeguard to the student experience of continuing students.
